Ooh La La a spa day! lucky you! Spa days are literally the best and if you ask me, I could go everyday!
I could never turn down an invitation to go to the spa! I'll come up with any excuses to go, like a birthday or even a long work week. You know where you’ll find me! (;
The best thing about spa days is that you get to simply indulge and relax. It’s so good not only for your body, but for your mind as well. Going to the spa helps to create a sort of separation from your every day to do list because you’re finally able to relax.
Going to the spa can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Deciding on what to wear can definitely help you feel comfortable and make the most of your visit. If you are wondering what to wear to the spa and even what to bring, you've landed in the right place!
Let's dive in!
What to Wear to the Spa?
A robe and flip-flops are the best thing to wear to the spa. However most spas provide these items. Comfy loungewear and a swimsuit are also great options to wear to the spa.
Usually once you get to the spa you will be able to change into a robe and flip flops. You can also check with the spa ahead of time to see what they provide and what you’re allowed to bring.
- A cozy robe is a must for your spa day. It keeps you warm and makes you feel pampered.
- Flip flops are a must for a spa day. They are easy to slip on and off, which is perfect when you move between treatments.
- A swimsuit is a must for many spa treatments. Swim in the pool or soak in the hot tub. Choose something comfortable.
What to wear for before and after the spa?
Wear a nice sundress or comfortable outfit that you can easily change in and out of.
My favorite outfits are wrinkle resistant clothes since I will usually be changing out of the clothes and packing them away in a locker. Wrinkle resistant materials are usually crafter out of bulgari fabrics or poly spandex blends.
What to pack for a day at the spa?
It's a good idea to pack a bag with some extra clothes like a swimsuit for the steam room and jacuzzi, and fresh undergarments so you can take a shower later. Depending on the activities you will be booked for, you can adjust the list below as needed.
If you are like me, I am picky about my hair & body wash products, so I typically like to bring my own, but if I forget, it's no biggie. The good news is that most spas keep some of these items on hand, such as robes, flip flops and basic toiletries.
Aim to pack lightly since most spas provide many of the essentials. You can call ahead to check in and see what they provide.
- Robe/loungewear If your spa doesn't provide you with a robe, this is the best item to bring
- Swimsuit If the spa has pools, hot tubs, or saunas, pack a swimsuit
- Undergarments Extra undergarments if you plan to change after treatments
- Basic Toiletries Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and any personal hygiene items
- Skincare Cleanser, moisturizer, lip balm & a face mask
- Hair Care Hairbrush, comb, hair ties, and a headband
- Contact Lens Solution and Case If you wear contacts
- Water bottle Staying hydrated at the spa is so important
- Snacks Some spas keep snacks on hand but just incase a granola bar or dried fruit can be a good idea to keep in your bag
- Extra bag Packing an extra bag for your wet swimsuit or worn clothes is a great idea
Entertainment Ideas For The Spa
If you plan to spend a relaxing day at the spa, you'll want to pack some entertainment or activities for the waiting or relax rooms.
I LOVE to bring a good book and headphones to listed to an audio book or uplifting podcast. Sometimes I go along with a friend and I don't need to bring anything, but if I am going alone, I like to bring an activity or two.
- Journal for gratitude writing
- Headphones
- Phone charger
- Adult coloring book and gel pens
- A good book
- A face mask to do on my own
These are a few simple and easy to pack things you can bring to the spa to make sure you have a good time-the whole time.
What to wear to the spa on your period?
If you are going to the spa on your period, you can wear black colored biker shorts or leggings under your robe for your spa day.
This way you have an extra layer of protection but can still feel comfortable. Most spas provide robes and towels, but you might feel more comfortable bringing your own items to avoid any visible stains.
If you are getting a message and you are on your period, wearing those biker shorts will make a big difference.
Going to the spa on your period can still be just as relaxing and fun! Just plan your outfit ahead of time to feel comfortable and confident. Don't forget to pack extra products like pads, tampons, and wet wipes to stay fresh.
Wearing a cute pair of palazzo pants is nice even if it's not the time of the month! They are comfy and perfect for any day of the week, especially a lovely spa day!
Finally, don't forget to pack a hair tie!
A hair tie is a must-have when you visit the spa. Long hair can get in the way during treatments. Use a soft, gentle hair tie like a scrunchie or hair clip. This prevents hair breakage during treatments and keeps your hair secure.
Enjoy your spa day without a worry with this list of spa day must haves!
